n this article in the Mandarin press, Dr Tan explains the different types of knee, ankle and foot injuries that can be associated with running. Runners are prone to lower limb injuries, and the various diagnostic techniques and treatment options for injuries are discussed. These include conservative non-surgical treatments, injections, physiotherapy and surgical reconstruction. In runners, a minimally invasive approach is usually preferred to reduce downtime. Some injuries include ligament and meniscus injuries of the knee, ligament injuries of the ankle, cartilage (osteochondral) injuries, impingement syndromes, stress injuries and stress fractures in the foot and ankle.
